I understand your thoughts but the motor and gearbox shaft are in alignment.
I am certain the gearbox is the cause of the noise.
Also the noise was worse when using the old motors, which also were in alignment.
So I have eliminated the noise from the well worn bearings in the old motor.
I wish I could get hold of new plastic gears and see if that decreases the noise problem further.
