From Kent Snyder:

The Cruise to Las Vegas!

One of the best parts of the POCA Las Vegas Fun Rally is the drive there. In past years, there was always a convoy from the Los Angeles area to the Plaza hotel, which for many of us, was the only chance we had to drive in a large group of Panteras.

In the early years, there would be upwards of 100 Panteras in the convoy. While we don’t expect anywhere near that many today, what with three arrival days, it is time to again set up a convoy to Las Vegas!

The meeting location is changed from past years. For 2006 it will be at the Sierra Avenue off ramp, which is 4 ½ miles north of I/S 210 on I/S 15. Going north, turn left into the “complex” which has, among others, Chevron and Shell gas stations, a McDonalds, Del Taco, etc., where you can fuel up both car and body.

This will work out well, not only for those coming from the Los Angeles area, but for the convoy coming from San Diego, who will no longer have to go out of their way to meet up with other Panteras.

For planning purposes only, figure on a departure time of 9:30 AM, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This will give you time to get there, gas up, have breakfast, coffee, use the restroom, etc., before you go.

Driving at a “safe and sane” speed, and with no stops or traffic issues, it is no more than 3 ½ hours from Sierra Avenue to The Orleans.

See you in Las Vegas!
