Thanks for the semantics lesson.
Many companies and trades use a word to describe a part that does not encompass the exact dictionary definition of the part. Also, there are additional dictionary definitions for 'bushing' and 'adapter'. Bushing:
1. "Electricity. a lining for a hole, intended to insulate and protect from
abrasion one or more conductors that pass through it.
2. "Machinery.
a. a replaceable thin tube or sleeve, usually of bronze, mounted in a
housing as a bearing.
b. a replaceable hardened steel tube used as a guide for various tools
or parts,as a drill or valve rod."
Adapter:
"a connector for joining parts or devices having different sizes, designs,
etc., enabling them to be fitted or to work together."
Anyway, I think that everyone gets the idea and, hopefully, Rick has located and installed the correct part and has his problem solved.
