Thank you for your reply.

Where are the numbers located. I've owned my car for 42 years and know the car has never been wrecked by me or the first owner. I had it repainted twice, stripped to bare metal the second time so it seems the numbers would be visible if I looked at the right place. Would I have to remove the headlight?
