Reply to "Wanted*17" or 18" wheels for Wide body GT5"

I have a europeon GTS and the flares are fiberglass on my car so they may be a little wider, but am not certain. Thirteens on the rear are enough to stick out beyond the flare lip even on my car. But actually the fronts are what rub the most. The wheels I am using mandated the two inch thick billet aluminum spacers and they still rub when I hit a bridge abuttment/expansion joint at speed. These size tires are meant for really wide flairs like the GT5 and Group four cars. You could run them on the car but it will be a pain. Of course they look awesome, but how much are you willing to put up with for appearances?? The car doesn't handle as well sitting up that high. You get good traction but if you are only running 300-400 horse it is definite overkill.
Yeah I probably paid too much for the setup but back when I bought it I wanted the absolute best money could buy. It looks great and I get a lot of compliments and all, but as I get older it means less to me what others think and more to me what I think. And right now I want to lower the car. Lower it to the ground. Maybe enogh so that I have to avoid running over snails for fear of high centering the car. Maybe put roller skate wheels on the floor pans???
If you really are planning on putting GT4 or GT5 type flair on, this is the kind of wheel and tire meant for it. But if you want to leave it the way it is and just have wide meats, I think you will be dissapointed.
Well just think it over and shop around. I wasn't going to try and sell them untill later this fall anyway and if I have no luck selling them I have a place in my garage were they can just sit there and be fine. I may even put them on again someday just for car shows. Heck someday I might even get a group four who knows?
Let me know how it is going and keep in touch.
