Yes I found almost all of the fragments.
I‘m certain you‘re right and it could be fixed. But I reckon it would be quite a job with the risk that the housing would never be as robust as it was originally.
I would feel more confident replacing the housing.

I think you Underestimate what welding can do…. And how strong it is…. I would fix it now regardless if you’re gonna keep it or if you’re gonna change the insides over…

if the break surface itself gets distorted - hit , you never gonna get it back proper again..

in another 50 years, people are gonna dig your grave up to get their hands on it!
