Not sure why you're pulling the door card off. Most of the wiring going to the engine compartment goes through a "tunnel" which can be seen if you remove the safety belt mounting on the sill next to the passenger seat. The wiring loom can be seen exiting the tunnel on the passenger side right aft of the bulkhead on the engine bay side. From there it splits up into several different looms: rear lighting, ignition, etc.
