Yup it's got the bypass. Interesting that it has a sealed impeller. I think that the flow on any of these pumps will be fine. The "hot tip" on the Ford impeller was to reduce the OD to reduce high rpm cavitation (makes bubbles).
Cavitation is also bad if you are a submarine. It makes noise that the enamies sonar can hear.
