Easy guys, you could just weld the gear on to the shaft too but what happens if something does momentarily jam the oil pump? Now instead of easily replacing a roll pin, you're installing a new cam because the gear is broken off. A 3/16 pin should do the job. If you break that, then you have a problem with your oil pump.
