Reply to "What 180 headers to buy?"

I have a et from Hall. They do fit very tight to the engine and the engine compartment. The are flanged at in the middle so one side can be removed from the car without necessarily removing the other side.

There is no problem with the deck lid support. When I bought my set from Hall about 20 years ago, they came directly from Precission since they had to be made for me to fit the A3 Motorsport aluminum high port heads.

Bob is Gary son in law.

I can't speak for the differences between the two sets but maybe it's that there needs to be a recognizable difference between the two sets for business reasons?

If you are knowledgeable you will notice that there are some items in the Hall catalog that are much cheaper (and some more expensive) then other vendors. For instance, the Weber intake manifold at Hall is $600 to 650. In many other places it is $800 or $900.

One needs to be an educated buyer on a lot of this stuff.

The same situation exists with Wilkinson. Look at the price of the stub axles with him vs. others. He had them made so he doesn't need to mark them up.

The same with the fiberglass cores for the dash boards. Wilkinson makes them so he is the cheapest on them, although I think on this particular part Hall still makes his own as well.

You have to shop around and ask questions.

The main difference (although there are others) is that many people want them to go strait back. I don't I like them exiting the side. I don't want to move my condenser to the front of the car.
