Reply to "What gearing are you running?"

Is anyone running non-stock gearing in thier Pantera. Has anyone done a non-stock ring and pinion? There is a 4.6 and a 5.35 ratio available.
The Ford GT40 is listed as 2.42/1.47/1.09/.96/.86 with a 4.22 rear.
It did the 1/4 in 14.2@100mph with a top speed of 164mph @ 6900rpm.
Dry weight was 2060 lbs and test weight was 2230 lbs.
I'm sure that the team GT40 race cars were geared custom for specific race tracks.
I don't think the stock Pantera engine would have the power to reach 200 if the ratio was dropped down, even though theoretically it could and you would need less rpm.
The nose of the Pantera gets very light over 150. It is a place that you should not visit too often without devine favor. Why try?
