Thanks for the info. Now, since the cable I am planning to use does not com in 1/2 lengths, I have to debate whether I should buy a 6’ cable and add to it if required or go with a 7’ cable, which would allow for a little flexibility in routing it.

CSR Performance Products’ Zero Friction Push-Pull are measured tip to tip and has 3-1/2" travel and 10/32 thread.
