The pink wire comes from fuse #12 and supplies some kind of power to the fuel, water, and oil gauges in the console. It sounds like they connected to the pink to supply power to the relay.

Do you have a test light? If so, you can check it to see if it's constant power, or just key on power. I think it's key on.

In any event, it doesn't matter. Remove the yellow wire from the blue 3m connector and you're good to go! You can leave the connector there for possible future use. You never know when you may need a power source!

Just make sure there are no exsposed wires coming off the pink.
