If I remember right the decision to make it a Lincoln Mercury was to try and boost sales of that division. Sort of like what they have been wanting to do for the last several years now. It would be great timing for them to make a Pantera out of the GT tooling that they are only going to wind up throwing away anyway. The point isn't to sell a whole lot of Panteras, it is in selling a whole lot of whatever it is the mercurys are now a days. Fusions I think. Don't know because Mercurys have become so boring. Which is the point, they don't have a halo car, an image, to help move their other iron.
