All wheels flex during cornering, including Campys. Any pores that are in the wrong spots will grow into cracks from the flexing, and cast mag is infamous for porosity. IMHO the powder-painting will partially or completely stress-relieve the magnesium Campys so they should be OK on youre heavier Ute. If you can get the powder-coater to hold the painted wheels in the curing oven for a few hours, then just turn the oven off so the cool-down is very gradual, it will work best for stress relief. I've seen Campys split & had one rear crack on my Pantera, but I've also seen them used on open-track Mustangs.
