what were the stock valve covers on L-models

I am restoring my engine and engine bay back to the original look, but want to be sure about the valve covers. My car is an October, 1972 L-series. Not sure if it's supposed to have the blue painted valve covers or the brushed aluminum covers. Was it just the '71s that got the brushed aluminum covers?
