Wheel adapters for rear wheels, stock body

Has anyone had experience with wheel adapters to move rear stock wheels outward on a stock body car? It seems like it would make 8" Campy wheels look like 10" wheels, at least from most angles. The wheel well would be more filled in. Here is one of the units that could work. I am thinking of the 1" width offering.

Wheel Adapter 5 Lug 4.5" To 5 Lug 4.5" (Pair) 12x1.5
