Reply to "wheel spacers"

When I first got my wheels from Hall, I loved the look but was surprized that with all the offset info they had the wheels didn't fill out the wide body wheel wells. It reminded me of a London taxi. Most folks I checked with scoffed at the idea of spacers and I heard every reason why not to use them. But the spacers Hall supplied were a piece of art. I'd have to take the wheels off to check again, but I think they were 3/4" or 1" in back and 1/2" or 3/4" in front. Solid billet, they bolted to the wheel with 6 or 8 fat countersunk allen bolts. I needed new studs for the wheels, of course, but they looked great and are safe and solid. I have put them to some extreme tests over the years. Drifting wide into sidewalks has dinged a nice chunk out of the wheels a few times, but the centers and spacers are solid. I've also had spacers on my SVT for years without any issues.
