On my 73' I found that on the rears I could use a 7/32 spacer and retain the stock studs. I am using 2002 mustang rims and needed to space out the rim to prevent rubbing against the lower uprights. This was with a 10.5" rim. The common mustang 4.5 X 5 bolt pattern worked fine. I played around with sizes and found the 7/32 was the smallest that worked.
