Reply to "Where the Hall Ultra Pantera GT5S Owners?"

Yes, the Super Panteras were about 28 or so built, and he stopped building those in 1992, then later on he started on a limited number of the Ultra 5S (18 total). Long before he passed we chatted about it quite a bit in his shop. Or I should say Gary chatted about it and I listened (he could talk endlessly about his cars). So I just wonder where these 18 cars are now. Well, I know where two are, so that leaves 16 somewhere. As noted in the post above, they pretty much had signature parts, but he also varied slightly too if certain customers wanted to add more. For instance, he fuel injected mine as opposed to carb.

I prefer them a bit more than stock 5S as they are just a different breed altogether. I like well built custom cars, so this fits right for me. I think the real 5S are like you say, bought more for collector aspects, whereas the Ultra Hall 5S adds a bit more exotic oomph in appearance and power. For instance, no need to have it smogged, at least not in CA anyway. So it is easy to have the radical HP Fontana aluminum engine and just pay annual registration.
