Reply to "which distributor?"

Engine bay looks great Dave. I recently purchased a new Mallory Unilite distributor with vacuum advance, their coil, a recurve kit and a new ballast resistor from them. I was looking for a stock-ish distributor that did not require an additional external box (like the MSD). Took it out of the box last night and recurved it, 20* mechanical advance in by ~2600rpm according to the chart. By limiting the mechanical to 20, I can dial in 16-18* initial and end up with 36-38* total. The tech I spoke with was very knowledgable, he suggested a new ballast resistor due to the age and unknown charactoristics of the stock resistor, so I'll use the new one to feed the "+" side of the coil, and allow the "-" side of the coil to continue to go through the original ballast resistor. The Unilite requires very little current to trigger the LED, so there should not be any undue strain on the stock ignition switch.. I'll moly lube the gear and oil well before installation. Installing this weekend along with the new Edlebrock water pump.

Take care
John
