Reply to "Why modify a Cleveland"

I guess the question was why not replace the cleveland ???

I guess the answer is simple, it came in the car and I guess its a little more of a challange to build some thing rather then replace it with a drop in crate motor ? Isnt that what this is all about, creativity and ingenuity. I guess after all my years in racing cars it boils down to the thickness of cylinder walls. I had the same issues with FE's and YES the windsors the factory blocks are thin too.

Its always the same. Unless your building an aftermarket block the standard production block never has enough to go more then 40 over and thats the economics of the manufacturers. The crate motors, unless it has an after market Dart or SVO etc, you have the same worries only the carte motor builder didnt tell you to worry.
The 351C for 90% of the crowd is good, for me I, put the pedal to the medal and want to feel HP / RPM.

Tell me something ??? George start a new forum, please. How many people have blown a motor ??? Lets here the stories. And I'm not talking overheating and running out of oil.......... that will tell you who should be worrying about blowning a 351C and who should not.... I think its simple.....
