This was me driving home from filling up with fuel for the winter. Slowly inching along in traffic we descended down a steep hill under an overpass. I shifted into second and for about one full second down the hill must have reached all of 55 mph before being slowed by gravity as it went back uphill.
This spot is about 1/4 mile from my house. A road I travel about 6 times a day. In 12 years I have never seen a cop here. Hiding a cop on the uphill section right where everyone turns would be dangerous. And stupid.
That's why I'm pissed. They are in a spot where going downhill it is almost impossible not to break the limit. And for 1 lousy kilometer of recorded speed (.6 mph) the cop would have been able to issue a normal ticket, get money and points - but avoid the whole "excessive speed" and lost license deal.
I'm going to remember to ask the question that Mark posed. Sorry guys. This was not me being an idiot (which in my life I have certainly been before). These were a##hole cops.
