When it comes to the handbrake I take advice from my fellow Brits in the UK because to pass an MOT test the handbrake has to hold the car against a rolling road.

IMO good handbrake calipers are Brembo 2DO mechanicals, Hispec or Preciosn Brake. None are anywhere near as cheap as the spot calipers, but I guess it depends what you want your handbrake to do.

I'm not familiar with the new Mini handbrake, the Dodge Viper has a mechanical handbrake but again they don't usually come cheap.
