Chris, I think the conical boots are only a problem if you're using U-Joint to CV adapters, because the adapters move the CV boots an inch or so closer to the openings in the inner fender and to the exhaust. I've been using OEM Porsche conical boots without a problem; however, I have CV output flanges on my ZF.
