Reply to "zf leaking"

A couple of thoughts.

1) consider adding engine oil dye (NAPA part # 765-2661). Drive the car a few miles and check it out with a blacklight. You may be surprised with what you find.

2) If it is the speedo drive area then tightening the big nut is unlikely to help as it is not a sealing pipe thread. Remove the speedo angle drive and put a vice grip plier on the ZF drive's male flange that spins the angle drive gear. Then you can safely remove the side bolt holding in the ZF speedo drive. Use the vice grip to pull the drive gear out of the ZF to have access to the o-ring and replace the o-ring.
