Msgt, there are two different throwout bearings; one is a rather loose fit on the cast iron carrier while the other has an extra piece of sheet-steel folded into the opening. So this one is slightly tighter fitting. In addition, the anti-rattle spring for the bearing & carrier must be assembled such that it holds the bearing to the carrier. If you have the 'loose' type bearing and the anti-rattle hairpin spring is missing or assembled wrong, vibration will shake the bearing around a little. A sensitive person in a Pantera with stock exhausts may be able to hear the noise. if this is what's happening, it will cause no problem. Diagnosing 'funny noises' in a car is difficult enough when you're right there so my guesses may not apply.
