ZF temperature

Can anyone tell me what the normal operating temp of the ZF is? Running the car normal... medium to hard with water temp steady at 180 degrees when i checked the ZF with a infrared sensor I gat a reading of 120 to 125 degrees depending where it was mesured on the case.Is this normal......
