Flush mount Marine/Aircraft/Motorcycle fuel cap

I found this old post dated 2005 but its closed so I could not reply.
Air craft style gas filler

Marlin had done some nice work on a few filler doors. The last page has a link to Get Real Performance which looks very interesting.

Has anyone used the Get Real Performance version of cap? How much machining to the gill is required? I have the external fuel door in the gill now. How much cutting to the sheet metal in the car with this version?

Are there any other options out there for this mod?
