Terry, a small detail I'd like to confirm--something consistent with 8ma1074 when I saw it--was the paint line (!) In a usual world, we'd think the paint line (where the body color stop) coincides with the joint--so that here, the aluminum hood would be painted to its edge, and the black matter paint would stop at the edge. But your car shows the same as 8ma1074, the black paint used inside overlaps onto the aluminum by ~8mm or so...

And thanks, last year I did get a roll of the replacement matting from Autoricambi d'Epoca... I'm a long way from trying to strip off the old one, even after a rather pricey (take a deep breath, about $1k inc shipping) purchase for the new roll...but to look as good as yours still does...Lee
