Has anyone used an aftermarket hotrod cable type wiper system in a Pantera with any success?

Is your stock cable system missing or broken?

What is the motivation for re-inventing the system?

Most of us avoid ventures out into storm weather, so even the stock system does a fine job for the occasional rain we get caught in.

Just wondering.

Rain-X and pressing the right-hand pedal closer to the floorboard works for me. Big Grin
Thanks for the advice. I have no intentions of driving my car in the snow, but sometimes its unavoidable. Its snowing right now. I wanted a new system because my car is missing the whole system. I need to get it certified/saftied, so rather than paying out crazy amounts of money and dealing with old parts,I thought I would install a new system with readily available parts in Canada.
Thanks again
I think not having descent wippers on a car because you don't plan on driving it the rain is like not putting headlights on because you plan on driving it in daylight only.

I have not had the MG out in rain (much) but I have had several times where it's nice to get road grime off with washer and wippers. Of course if I get caught in the rain, it is a complete car and does fine.

The problem with the old MG wippers and many wipper systems in that erra is the electric motors and the mechanisms simply were not that great and the replacements are not much different.

SPWkits is a well known company known through the hot rod industry with a descent system which has been simple and easy to install as well as flawless for me.

They have several kits but I think they just had 2 generic kits. The difference I think was on the speed and maybe the delay and washer fluid delivery.

Mine has the built in washer switch. Just push it and it activates the washer.

Does not have the pump though. If your pump does not work I went to Autozone and looked through a box of different pumps they had and chose one which suited my application. It was $12.

One thing you might look at is the switch is very large (not the knob but the actual switch). It may take up a bit of room behind the pannel.

This will be going in my car when I am done.
