I'll be going through the cooling system soon, replacing the water pump, thermostat, tank caps and all the hose. Rather than me tracking down all the cooling system hoses, is there a vendor that sells a 'kit' using quality green or yellow stripe hose and stainless clamps? Thanks

John,
One thing to caution is the green stripe hoses were very tough to slip over the existing coolant tubes. These things are so well constructed, they will probably outlast the car... Definitely one of the nastier jobs I've done on the Pantera.

The silicon ones George mention should be easier to install and have more play, I think. ?

John,

Let me know what you find out about the blue silicone hoses cost-wise. I have an un-used (new) kit that I beieve came from Hall. I got it in a bulk-purchase of parts and don't need it. I would have mentioned it earlier, but you wanted the green-stripes. It doesn't contain the hard pipes, just the silicone ones and the clamps (stainless).

One of the first things I did when I got my Pantera was get a hose kit from Hall. Every hose was in there along with a thermostat, all the clamps. Hoses all cut to the right length, right diameter. That bright blue color hose. Really cool. It even had a brass replacement elbow. It was easy to do, one hell of a nice kit if you ask me.

That's the first time I've seen "easy to do" and "cooling system hoses" used in the same paragraph. ???
I went with the blue silicone hose. It is pretty flexible to a point. I had bought the kit from Hall and it came with everything including enough claps to double up on each connection. Best I remember this was what Hall recommends. Have fun... It's a pain. Take you time when you are doing the engine area, things are tight, and make sure you done create problems later.

Oh what I mean by that is if I can do something, then it is like no challange at all to those who are actaully experianced and know what they are doing. I have the ten thumbs defect. Smiler
John,
Here's a last minute suggestion:
If you're going to the trouble of replacing coolant hoses and your new car doesn't have heater shutoff valves...then recommend you add them to your list.

These allow you to shut off coolant flow to inside the cabin during the hot summer months. Those darn cabin heater tubes have been known to bust during the most inopportune time. Wink

I also bought the (Blue) silicone hose kit from Hall. Trick setup if you ask me. I'm planning on
SS coolant tubes and adding a electrolysis filter because of the aluminum radiator and water pump.

I also put a silicone (Red) hose kit on my viper. It's known for running hot 210 all da time. No problems at all.

You should use 2 lined hose clamps. The regular hose clamps can cut the silicone.
