I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of the emergency hood release instructions from ford.I'm making my own and just want to see how it's attached to the latch. Thanks Guy
I drilled a hole in the side of the toebox up above the gas pedal and looped a metal cable through the same place that the hood release cable attaches and secured it with a cable lock (a small brass fitting the cable passes through and gets secured with a screw) They are available at auto parts supply stores. I put a loop in the other end and secured it up above the gas pedal. The hardest part of the job is getting up under the dash, I'm not as slim or agile as I used to be.
Pantera Technical Service Bulletin Number 9 Article No. 64 shows the installation. If you don't have them, let me know and I can send you a copy of that page.
I looked at the TSB's one small problem,my hood latch setup is totally different then what the book shows.4044 has a straight verticle pin, more like an american car setup for a hood latch. Any suggestions? Thanks Guy
