YIKES!!! So much for economical. Just think what kind of motor you could build for that price.

Yes sir LPB. About a month ago. I followed your advice and used just regular oil this time. She is running better than she has in the whole time I have owned her. I have also driven it more than twice as far this year as any year I have owned her. I may even get close to a THOUSAND miles on her this year!! Four times my normal yearly milage.
I owe it all to the wonderfull people here on this board who have patiently helped me along.

DeTom,

check out the crate engines at this site (Ford Racing). They have pricing, etc. It will give you something to do while you're home sick.

Your friend on the DTBB, George

Holy cow George, they want $14,995.00 for a 302 modular?? What is it made of?? Unobtanium??
Heck for that kind of money you could... er acxtually you probably can't doo a whole lot better when you think about it.
Hopefully I will not be in the market for a new motor for the rest of my life. Having put one in this year. I got a rebuilt Cleveland With 4 bolt mains, forged steel crank, vanadium conn rods for $2900. I bought an additional $1000 of new parts from Hall, like new cluth, new starter, new water pump, alternator, hydralic clutch cylinders etc. The guy charged me $1500 to remove the old motor, install the new parts on the new crate, and install it in my car. When it developed a major oil leak at 100 miles, he did it all again for free. I can't really complain, I think I got a good deal. But I still complain anyway, just because I am a whiner.

DeTom,

Drop the h, add an n, and adopt that new attitude!

You'll feel better, permanently.

Michael

Thanks Michael. It amazes me sometimes. Here I own one of the most beutifull cars in the world, most guys would give their left nut for, and I focus on it's flaws instead of everything that is right with it. Heck almost everything works on the car. It only has a handfull of small scratches and dents. Every car show I have entered I have come away with a trophy, once without even having cleaned the car before the show.
Life has been very good to me.
