In my dealings, I have acquired a pair of new reproduction GRP 4 tail light lenses. These are the ones made by "PV" and are a close copy of the Carello style lenses.
I personally think they are only a so-so copy and since I still am finding/polishing/selling NOS and used Carello lenses, these repros have just been collecting dust on a shelf.
I have polished these lenses to bring out their shine. The chrome is intact save for one small area on an inside edge (by the license plate) which will not be easily seen when installed. There are some small flaws in the finish of the chrome on the outer edges that really won't be seen at all once installed.
I was surprised when I recently saw a set of these sell on eBay for $200.
For reference, my pricing on genuine Carello or Altissimo lenses is:
NOS perfect chrome lenses - $150 each - $300 L/R pair
Very good chrome lenses - $125 each - $250 L/R pair
Black out quality lenses - $100 each - $200 L/R pair
This repro set is priced to go at $125. I'll cover USA shipping.
