Well, the wife was driving the Pantera (which she rareley does) and sure enough it broke. Not badly, thankfully, but it had a coolant leak at the heater hose under the car where they connect to the metal tubes under the console in the rear.
My question is: what is the easiest way to replace those 2 hoses?
Is there easy access to the hoses once I pull the bulkhead cover?
Do I need to pull the two large coolant hoses that go to the radiator to gain access and do it from the bottom?

Thanks.

Paul,

This is easiest done through the bulkhead access panel, it's a bit of a headache with the crank pulley limiting access, but doable I did one 2 weeks ago and used 90 degree bends which made it a whole lot easier and neater, then I connected the 90's to two shut off valves so that the heater could be isolated in summer months and not fight with the A/C. If you don't have shut off valves this would be the ideal time to add them.

I've got the Dayco part numbers in my 5357 thread, the Jan POCA newsletter.

I've only got my silly iPhone with me now, so I can't resurrect the info immediately.

The Dayco hoses were the same diameter.

I was just wondering if the Gates hoses listed are the two that go under the console to the bearer core? If they are not than please ignore this. The Dayco hoses definatly go in the bay from the steel tubes to the water pump.

Using "old school methods" the info from your POCA article

DAYCO 80417 (3/4ID X 48L) or 80418 (3/4ID X 60L)

you also listed Gates 18079 which is a short (9") hose with 5/8 and 3/4 IDs for connecting remote heater valve to block
