Problems with a 1985 GT5 oil temp , oil pressure, fuel, water temp and clock gauges all stopped working at the same time. Fuse all check out , is there a common ground for only these gauges? Need Help
There is a small ground stud under the dash. I don't know if the wires are grounded there or not but it would be worth a look. The stud is on the driver's side fire wall somewhere around the speedo and tach (very general location).
Are you sure the fuses are good? I would clean and change the fuse that feeds the gauges. Does anything else that is on the accessory circuit work, could be switch if nothing works? Forest
This is a long shot but I just had the same problem today on my '72. The wires at the transaxle reverse lamp switch shorted to the transaxle blowing the 30 amp fuse at the bottom of the fuse array. I don't know if the 85 has the same array, but do check the fuse array and place a circuit tester on either side of the fuse to see if you have voltage.
