Chuck Melton has a nice writeup on his website detailing how to remove the engine and gearbox. Once that's done, the fuel tank is child's play.

They are absolutely excellent, completely mandatory for anybody even considering changing a light bulb! They can be had from PI or the POCA store. Worth their weight in gold....
