I need to find procedure for removal of fuel tank on a 1972 pantera. All replies gratly appreciated.

You have to remove the engine and the unbolt the gas tank strap to remove the tank, many have tried, but there is no other way.

True- first the transaxle, then the engine, then the gas tank. There is NO other way. For two guys, at least one of whom should be experienced, it takes all day to remove and reinstall a tank. This is an ideal club project assuming you belong to a Chapter of POCA or at least have a few Pantera owners in your vicinity.
Chuck Melton has a nice writeup on his website detailing how to remove the engine and gearbox. Once that's done, the fuel tank is child's play.

Also, at the risk of asking the obvious, do you have the various Ford-generated shop manuals, technical service bulletings and heavy repair manuals? They are absolutely excellent, completely mandatory for anybody even considering changing a light bulb! They can be had from PI or the POCA store. Worth their weight in gold....
