The Aptera looks cool, but in the event of an accident, kiss your arse goodbye! You are about as well protected in an accident as if you were riding in a styro-foam coffee cup.
The Tesla is built on a fully crash certified platform. And, it comes with blistering performance.

Just curious how much do these two cars go for?

The base price for the '08 Tesla is $98,000. Fully loaded is just under $110,000. If you live more that 100 miles outside of their initial 5 markets (L.A., Frisco, NY, Chicago, Miami) it will cost you an additional $8,000 service fee.
$118,000 seems just a bit much to me, but what do I know?

The Atera was 24K for the all electric and 29K for the hybrid that gets 300 mpg. It is classified as a motorcyle.

I agree, but to play Devil's Advocate, performance is on par with a Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Ford GT, each of which costs thousands more "new."
Then again, if I had $118,000 to burn on a Tesla at the moment, I'd buy either another Pantera or a Porsche 993, AND a used Ferrari F355.
Cheers!
