You have to temper it with rum (Coke, not Pepsi).

The other controversial issue in my circle of friends: Mac or PC?
I own a design firm, so I have a LOT of Macs and have purchased eleventy million of them over the years. At home we have one Mac and one PC.

Uh, Mac, Duh....
I also own a design firm and have every Mac I ever bought (that didn't melt). I'm hoping when I'm 75 I'll be able to sell them on eBay as antiques and fund my retirement.
But seriously, even my PC friends are getting Macs now. I even know a very senior guy at Microsoft who uses an iPhone (when nobody is looking). The build quality of Apple stuff isn't what it was when they were made in the USA, but they sure are feature-packed and easy to use.

I like the headline for the handset that plugs into your cell phone. It states "it's like talking on your home phone." I haven't had a "home phone" for six years, so talking on my cell phone is like talking on my home phone. It gets sorta circular.

You like garlic powder? Check and see where it comes from! Not all, but a lot of the name brands get products, in part from China. First dog food and then........

I cannot imagine operating without a landline. I have 6 portable phones at home and I do not have a big house. I want it to be easy to pick up a call no matter where I am in the abode.
My problem with using cell phones at home is that I can never answer the call in time before it goes to voice mail.
Besides, I do not want to clip an iPhone to my underwear or my pajamas.

Six portable phones? So you just leave one in every room? I just keep my cell phone in my pocket (or coffee table, etc.) and don't walk around in my PJs.
I couldn't go back to a land line because so much communication is done through email, text and Facebook...and I have all those things on my iPhone. Can't play games or watch Netflix on a land line either. :-) Haven't you ever been on the couch watching a movie and you think "hmmm, I have seen that actress before" and you want to check IMDB to see what else she has been in but you don't want to walk all the way over to the computer? iPhone!

We have two lines as well - my wife has a Droid. The other day she was washing the dog and needed help, but couldn't leave the dog unattended to yell for me...so she sent me a text.

Man...some of you guys would have never made in the old days, when there was only one phone in the house and it was on the wall AND was a party line! LOL

I do remember when we only had one phone, and it was attached to the wall, but I can't imagine a party line. Boy am I glad technology is moving forward at light speed.

I'm around daily, but I'm on vacation, just checking the forums daily via a laptop. I'll be hiking the Grand Canyon today.
The forum statistics are very good, I'm proud of them, we have a very active forum. I changed the length of time a members name remains at the bottom of the summary page after they log-off. It had been set at 60 minutes,I think I lowered it to 10 minutes. So the list of names of members logged-on is often shorter now, but actually more accurate.

George,
Do you still have the log off time set to 10 minutes?
