They aren't individual screws. They are studs welded onto a long metal strip. Yes, that's the way they did it back in the day.

I was thinking it was a "panel". I removed the nut/washers for the upholster, but when I saw it was just studs welded to metal strips, I didn't remove so he could keep track of which strip went where.

I've got the outboard alternator, and the flat engine cover - now I'm thinking about how to do the inside panel.

I'm looking at the Velcro attachment scheme - that sounds easy... (to remove, anyway!)
