OK,I installed the 50 amp continuous duty Bosch relay to the ignition system.
Now the tach doesn't work.

It's really very simple how it should work, one wire is the 12v power source, the other is the (pulse sensor) to the distributor terminal on the coil.

I took the 12v source wire from the coil and ran it to the #86. That is the on singnal from the ignition switch?

Power from the starter relay is terminal #30.

Terminal #87 goes to the the battery terminal on the coil.

Terminal #85 is the ground.

What did I do wrong?

Please help. Remember to inflict as much pain and discomfort as possible. I need more from the outside.

Thanks. I knew you would understand.

...Your problem is: It looks to me that There is NO 12 Volts at the coil + side to active the relay Because You are trying to power the coil through the relay itself, which won't get power from the coil because there is none. A 'Catch 22'. Also, You Never take power from the coil + side, a NO-NO because the current there is reduced by a resistor wire OR a Ballast Resister! Only the Ignition coil should run from this source. Also, WHERE are you taking the 12 Volts off of the Starter Solinoid?? Is it from the 'always ON' main cable, or an 'Intermittent' Terminal?...
The 12v power source to terminal #30 on the relay is from the battery cable on the starter relay.

The car fires right up so there are no problems with the other wiring.

Just the tach.

The tach wire went to the ignition terminal of the coil. The Ignition switch wire (the wire from the ignition switch) was also on that terminal.

That wire from the ignition switch now goes to terminal #86 on the solinoid.

Where does the tach wire go to now?

Ok. Let's back up.

The location of the tach wires, regardless of what terminals they are on has not been changed. The tach was functioning before this modification. Therefore the hook up must have been right.

I don't want to get caught up in a non-topic.

The wire from the ignition switch to the ignition coil (light blue) was taken off of the coil terminal (+) snd now goes to the new solinoid terminal #86.

The terminal wire #87 now runs to that terminal.

Those are the only two changes to the coil.

The tach does not work now. Why?
