Hi all,
Does anyone have any suggestions (or better yet, photos!) of where to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge in the engine bay where it can still be seen while driving?

I'd originally just planned on temporarily wire-tying one to the engine cover to check the accurancy of the stock electrical gauge, but I'd really like to just leave it in place and have one permanently installed.

If I attach it to the engine cover screen, it'll be easy to see while driving but will make removing the engine cover a little tricky.

If I attach it to the "shelves" that support the engine cover screen then it will be more permanent, but more difficult to see while driving.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Charlie,

If you get a small gauge with long lead, you can mount it behind the parking brake lever between the driver's seat and console. It wouldn't even be noticed by anyone if you mounted it low enough (below the seat cushion level).

You can run the lead along (or under the bottom edge) of the console, and pass it through the firewall with the shifter linkage. You can probbly sneak it through between the edge of the boot and the metal edge of the opening using a grommit. You can the tap it right into the orifice in the block by the oil filter.

That would be an easy to read, discreet, and permanent, installation!
