The OEM piston-type AC compressor has a sump that hold AC oil; rotaries hold much smaller amounts of oil in the whole system rather than in a sump. I changed mine to a rotary two decateds ago, but I can only guess that you may be low on oil and the compressor is protesting this lack. One good thing about the OEM compressor is, it has valves that can be shut off to hold pressure in the system while the compressor is being worked on. You need a pro-AC service center, I believe.
