This past weekend I finished installing the Autometer Phantom gauges, and tonight I swapped the light bulbs out for Autometer's blue LED's. Pretty slick.

My girl has the same gauges in her Miata, and she put in the red LED's. It's also quite impressive to see at night. VERY red.

TOTALLY COOOOL! By the way...what do you do about directional and high beam indicators when swapping the Veglias for after-market guages?

I will be making a custom indicator light panel that will go in between the two gauge pods (where the e-brake warning light is). I have also seen a similar panel made to replace one of the rocker switches:

I'm not sure, but my guess would be yes. They simply replace the standard light bulbs found in most gauges. I even checked, and confirmed that they'll work in the stock gauges.
One thing to note though, with LED's the dimmer won't work. You'd need a special LED dimmer module to make that work. Suits me. I've never dimmed any of mine anyhow.
Autometer makes them in Green, Amber, Red and Blue. I bought mine from summit. They vary in price, but average around $10 each.

They have different part numbers for pedistal mounted tachs. If you want one of those, you can look up the part number on autometers website.

I don't know. I kept meaning to take it for a spin before I started on anything else (I'm actually in the process of redoing the whole interior). But this week I picked up a couple of new seats and have been working hard to get them in. The carpet and old seats are out of the car right now so that I could drill holes for the new seat brackets. Had to modify the brackets and such, but the drivers side went smoothly. The passanger side is killing me though because the bulky e-brake is in the way. The new seats are wider, and they get squished between the e-brake bracket and the side of the car.
I'm looking at trying to completely modify the e-brake and e-brake bracket, but that means that the little center console pocket piece wouldn't fit properly anymore. Ugh.

Have you considered eliminating the cable e-brake for a line-lock type of e-brake? Then you could remove that whole e-brake box.

Yes, thinking about that this morning. Someone from the e-mail list mentioned it. Someone else also mentioned using one of those electric trunk lifts (mounted in the tunnel) to pull the cable via a switch.
One time my girl was driving her miata to meet me for lunch. She took the freeway exit, hit the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. Had to use her e-brake to stop. One of the front brake lines had been rubbing on the control arm, and was eventually cut through.
I can't help but feel that I need to retain the ability to finesse the e-brake. We'll see. I hope to find a solution today.

I tried the slip on covers on the normal light bulbs and found that they kind of just tinted the light red. It actually wasn't very noticable. Didn't look nearly as red as yours.

Cool (updated rocker switches)... I'm reworking the whole dash in my car as well. Bought a whole set of really nice toggle switches and indicator lights. Can't wait to get them in.
