Hello all!

I just happen to fall into a position to purchase an unrestored 1974 Pantera GTS in the USA. I need to know as much about this particular model so when I inspect the car I can value it properly.

Is there anyway to put a value on it with the generic Good, Fair, Poor catagories or should a pantera have a more specific scale to be judged.

For a little bit more infor the car has not moved or been started in 14-16 years and has been in a garage under a blanket.

Let me know how much I'm gonna have to cough up to get this car. (or if I should just walk away)

It will be tought to give you a number. A lot will depend on the condition of the body- no rust , some rust, major rust. It also depends on were the rust is at. Say if it has no rust, there is the concern of the car setting 14-16 years. Thats a long time.
Maybe you can take a look at it & post the condition of the car and then we might be able to give you a rough idea on price.

I'm not as interested in price as I am in details that I must check to verify the cars condition.
I know that the mechanicals will need to be gone through and the motor will most likely need some attention ut where are the rust spots to look for? what about electrical? mechanical? Basically what would be included in a pre-purchase inspection so I won't miss any details?

There are some real experts on this board. Post the city and you may be able to have a member meet you and inspect the car. It happens all the time! I bought my car from 1,500 miles away beacuse a member checked it out for me. I then flew down and did a quick double check and shipped the car home. I am still happy!!!!

Since price is not the essential element of purchase, leave it be and put your money into a car that is well known in the Pantera community. A car sitting that long will have many issues which will be found out only after you start having problems.
