After having a new heater control valve installed and a new control cable (gauge panel was removed for this work) I find there is no power to the radiator fans or their relays. Fuse is good and there is good ground at the fans and relays. Any suggestions of were to look for first to trouble shoot this problem ?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure that you have +12 volts on BOTH sides of the fuses. Key needs to be in the run position.

If you have a '71 car, the fan relays are located in the relay panel mounted above the passenger's foot well. There is a nylon connector (actually there are three) adjacent to that relay panel that could have a bad connection.

If the fan relays are mounted on the front trunk bulkhead by the radiator, the relays are fed with a pink wire that is continuous from fuse #11. There should be a pink wire jumper between the two fan relays.

There is a second version of the front mounted relays that will have a pink wire from fuse #11 to one relay, and a second pink wire from fuse #12 to the second relay.

Thanks, John and Larry. After some reflection I figured out the problem. Years ago, following a suggestion in a PI magazine article, probably from the late 70's or early '80's to install a switch to cut off power to the radiator fans when cruising on the interstate. Turns out the switch had failed, and cut off all power to the fans and relays. Should have figured that out earlier. Thanks again for the reply. Mine is a June 1972 build,#3664.

Thanks again.
