Oil gauge and warning light sender?

Why not install the sender for the light in the port above the oil filter and leave the gauge sender in the stock location?

I do not believe you can have a variable gauge and an idiot light function off the same sender.

You need to install two senders in two ports, or use a tee to attach two senders at the same port.

Mike, VDO, with right threads? Can you direct me as to where I can get it?

To use a VDO sender I believe you would need VDO gauges, like I have.

I have been running a tee extension (as pictured above) on my Ford F-150 for over 160,000 miles.

I work in construction, so these miles have not all been nice, smooth highway miles.

No Quarter, I've been think about doing the same thing...one bright LED on the dash somewhere possibly with a blinking feature would be great. I've not see a dual sending unit either but you'd think one would exist with all the electronics available.

My old McLaren had just that, but used the T to mount the sending unit...back when it was raced in the CanAm series by George Eaton, a two or three inch tail light was mounted just to the left of the steering wheel (right hand drive) just slightly below the line of sight of the track...it stuck out like a sore thumb and was somewhat crude by today's standards but I'm sure it saved a few expensive engines.

An aviation type warning buzzer can be added into the neg ground switch system so that the warning light and warning buzzer react at the same time....

I installed the VDO sender with both idiot light and gauge function on my BMW, works fine. Mikael, you can buy one at VDO ScanMax in Buddingeveje. Only problem I guess is getting it to interface with the Veglia gauge. I guess it may be possible to use the fuel tank re-calibration device of Thomas Törnblom from Sweden if there was a way to generate different pressures to do the calibration (perhaps with air pressure?). It would be cool if 'Pantera Electronics' was to develop a plug and play converter for the vdo senders to veglia gauges.
