Does any one know where I can purchase decent Pantera wheelarches 'extentions' to pop-revit to the standard 'skinny-body,'- like the factory did to the GRP.4 racers?
Also please for the GTS LONGCHAMP. I am considering buying a Longchamp but would like to convert it to the GTS Longchamp look.:-- Wheelarch extentions, and does any one know what Campie-rim, tyre size they ran ? They sure look pretty like that, and iam told they drive very nicely too. Were there any manual box ones, and if so what box did they use? And do we know what auto box was used ? Are the decals available, - i recall there being decals down the sides and around the arches / Anyone got a pic of this "GTS" type LONGCHAMP/ Love to see one.... I have seen the normally looking one, ( Latest P.I. Newsletter ) but not the chunky, wide-body look.......many thks all, tai....

The manual box was made by ZF, don't know the model number. I don't know what other cars used the box or if parts are still available. There is a manual car in the US that switched to a Ford T6 box. The automatic was the Ford C6, its a great trans but could really use a 4th gear. It looks like the manual and autos used the same peddle box, so it shouldn't require too much work to switch an auto to a manual or even a modern 4sp auto.

The GTS used the Pantera GTS 8 & 10 inch campys, they are easy to find, but its hard to find speed rated tires for the 10 inch rims. Not all the GTS's came with the decals, but Wilkinson or Jaeckel might have them. The GTS also had different exhaust vents for the hood, which came off the Fiat X19.

http://www.carcommunity.net/ has pictures of some Longchamps and other DeTomaso cars.

MARK & SCOTT.
Many thks indeed ur prompt replies, and SCOTT ur much enjoyed & appreciated critic & insights of ur own LONGCHAMP. It does sound great. Also ur interesting info on the car details itself.-( I thought I saw that grill somewhere!) Good to hear it uses the excellent Jag backend. I know and am very fond of these I.R.S.'s as I have been "tied" to Jags it seems for a long time & am completing a '37 Jag SS 2- Door Coupe, as my 'daily-driver,' - running Jag XJS V12 motor, driveline / running gear thru out, auto-box. Good brakes. Good handling. ( The motor sits virtualy amidship under that long, louvred bonnet.) And I race a trick, liteweight early, series-1 XJ6 in Historics with a series-3 'Limo' Executive, long wheelbase as 'parts-chaser.'

Perhaps a tasty set of 17 inch Campy copies, which arent too heavy....will take care of the tyre avail. problem....and still look pretty orginal and fill out those GTS wheelarches nicely....

Thks agin guys, most helpfull.....and agin Thks to P.I. for making this all come about, without us even thinking about it.
The 'New Look' Book is dynamite as well as the 'New Look' WebSite. Well done.

tai.
