I read the list every day and this has been some of the most interesting topic for some time now. I think Mad Dog is right. The more people find out about Panteras, the more they want one.

That car was on Ebay before and it went reserve not met...... That seems kinda high to me. It would be interesting to know if the deal actually goes through. Somtimes bids ge falsly driven up .then the winner wants you to accept more than agreed and a third party recive some scam of some sort at an offshore bank kinda thing. I have been watching the red gr4, I must not have saved it. The last time i looked it was 39g. Did anyone see the final sale price?

I was following the red GR4 and to my dismay and frustration it was pulled about a day early to sell to the highest bidder at curent price, which at that time was $42,600, what a steal at that price. Watching eBay frequently I have seen that some items get posted with 'no reserve' only to get pulled near the end when the seller thinks they won't meet price expectataions.

I think something was not quite right in that auction. Sounds more like Shill bidding to me than just prices increasing on Pantera's.
I do believe prices are going up but I have also seen quite a few nice looking Panteras that don't get past the $35,000.00 on ebay and the ad didn't even present the car well with pictures or words.
Just my opinion!

That Red Group 4 clone was the car to buy on ebay

I went to check out a Pantera in my area 2 weekends ago for a nice guy who wound up buying it.

It was an essentially stock, low mileage '72 Pantera with beautiful paint (respray), an equally clean and beautiful interior (with Capri steering wheel), and an original engine bay. The car drove well (no errant noises either), and everything worked, including the A/C. The hoses were all new Green Stripe, and the brake pads and calipers were new too.

Some items of note were a nonstock ammeter, engine idled at about 2000 RPM (claims stuck choke), the decklid kept popping up a bit while driving (latch not fully engaging), and the pass side rear floorpan dented up due to someone placing a jack under this location. All of these are easy fixes.

Aside of those few minor issues, the car needed nothing. It had stock Campys, and a wheel upgrade would've made the car look phenominal!

The asking price was 42.5k. The selling price was 41k. The car looked as if you could take it right to a show, and win with it.

It doesn't seem like a fluke, but the general direction in which the value of our Panteras is heading.

I just looked at the auction and have to say that the car I looked at was in nicer condition.

Has anyone noticed that the 4 bids placed on that Pantera were all by the same bidder? I find it unusual that the bid move up without any other bidders.

The seller of the GR4 said he sold it for $45, but he had an offer afterwards for $50. He felt like pulling out of the deal but it thought it would not be fair to the original offer.
If you notice one guy did all the actual bidding on that '72. It went from a bid of $23 to $45 on the same day. Very unusual. Thats why I said supposedly sold. Just don't know about this one.

From what I read a see and I have not seen this car in person but it looks exactly like my car and I bought mine for 32k, I thought a little high for mine but it was in good condition and our of California so very little rust. Anyway I hope the values increase.
